Curriculum information meetings for parents

We enjoyed another Parents’/Carers’ meeting yesterday as Mrs Burgin, assisted by Mrs Nessbert and myself, took Year 1 parents through how and what their children will learn and experience this year under the new Curriculum for Wales.  It was such a pleasure to be able to welcome parents/carers into school again and I look forward to many more opportunities to do this.  Please see below for dates and times of other Curriculum Meetings

  • Year 2 meeting will be Thursday 10th November at 2.30 pm
  • Year 3 meeting will be Friday 11th November at 2.45 pm
  • Year 4 meeting will be Wednesday 16th November at 2.45 pm
  • Year 5 meeting will be Friday 18th November at 2.45 pm
  • Year 6 meeting will be Tuesday 15th November.   2.45 pm

Parents’ consultations

Thank you to all of you who have booked an appointment with class teachers for next week.  We look forward to sharing how your child has settled into the new school year, how they are getting on with their learning and how you can support them at home.  In case of any technical glitches, please have your mobile phone to hand for the online meetings.

Can you help?

Thank you to those of you who have offered to come into school to share your skills and talents with us. The topics are below if you would like to take part. Please contact me at  mitchellr28@hwbcymru.net and I will put you in touch with the class teacher for the related topic.

PTA Preloved costume sale

A huge thank you to the PTA for organising the costume sale in readiness for our Spooks and Sparkles disco on Thursday 27th October.  £129 was raised and many children went away excited with costumes ready for the upcoming events. Thank you to everyone for donating and helping out on the day. Attached is a poster for next week’s Spooks and Sparkes Disco.

Children’s Birthdays

Please could I request that when it is your child’s birthday, you DO NOT send cake and treats into school. This is because we have a number of staff and children in each year group with allergies and we need to keep them safe.  Thank you.

Wishing you all a pleasant weekend and warm Diwali wishes,

Rachel Mitchell, Headteacher
