Parentmail 21.4.23

Dear Parents/Carers,

It’s been a pleasure to welcome pupils and staff back to school this week for the final term of the 22-23 academic year. Another exciting and stimulating term awaits with the addition of sports days and Year 6 Leavers’ activities. It looks as if the weather is finally warming up…

Reception children spent the day at Barry Island beach this week to launch their new Learning Project, ‘At the Beach’ and even managed to paddle in the sea!

We wish Eid Mubarak to all who are celebrating Eid ul-Fitr this weekend.  We hope you have a wonderful time with family and friends.

Please remember that next Monday 1st May is a BANK HOLIDAY, as is the following Monday (8th).

Universal Free School Meals

We have received the following information from Cardiff catering service:

The next stage of the rollout of UFSM in Cardiff will see the offer extended to Year 1 pupils from Monday 24th April.  To ensure that Year 1 pupils do not miss out on their free school meals, families should log on to their ParentPay account and pre-order their meals.  The menu for the w/c 24th April will be available on ParentPay from this (Friday) evening.

Teams are working hard with the aim of having provision in place so that free school meals will be provided to Year 2 pupils from Monday 5th June.  Schools/parents/carers will be updated on this closer to the time.

Families of children of all ages who receive benefits should continue to register for a free school meal.

UK Emergency Alerts Programme

We have been asked to share information on behalf of Cardiff Council about the UK National Test Message which is happening on Sunday 23rd April. Please find attached the information and links.
